Helping Paws in Maumelle: How Maumelle Friends of the Animals is Making a Difference

Stray animal overpopulation is a growing concern across Central Arkansas, and right here in Maumelle, a dedicated group of volunteers is stepping up to help. Maumelle Friends of the Animals (MFOA) is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the number of homeless animals in our community — and they’re doing it with heart, strategy, and hands-on action.
Tackling the Crisis with Spay & Neuter Programs
One of the most effective ways to combat stray overpopulation is through spaying and neutering — and MFOA is leading that charge locally. Their spay and neuter voucher initiative helps pet owners access affordable services, making it easier for the community to be part of the solution.
By preventing unwanted litters, this program not only helps reduce the number of stray dogs and cats but also promotes healthier pets and fewer animals in shelters.
Coming Soon: Microchipping for Safer, Smarter Pet Ownership
In addition to spay and neuter support, MFOA is working on launching a microchipping program for local pets. Microchipping is a simple, safe way to ensure lost pets can be quickly reunited with their families — and when every minute counts, this service can make all the difference.
How You Can Help
